nominees will battle it out and office holders will hunker down and do
their dirty and they will save the world by their passion,
determination, wisdom and pride and honor.
The middle will hold
and smile and laugh and pretend not to disappear. The wings will foam
and foment and pretend not to seek unlimited control of all thoughts,
all things, all songs, all days, all deaths, all moral high grounds and
all ways to sneer and look down one's nose.
The power vacuums will
rise. The systemic vulnerabilities will seep puss like a canker sore
and there will be no place and no means for a broad based sharing of
wealth and power. The mechanisms of order and survival will kick in as
they must as mobility is lost, learning is killed, access to governance
is false and controls are put upon economic well being and decent into
the lives of wage slave or bum, supplicant or lost soul, debt ridden,
broken loner and those who ask what the hell is the point of it all will
be a morbid trip.
Common purpose will come as an illusion, the
only common purpose being the effort to keep the barbarians at bey. The
social contract will be broken as it is one that implies a unified
whole of a county, one with shared interests and goals. Trust will
disappear and there will be no reason for cohesion save defense of
order, the allowance of misery, the pride of hate.
The bonds of a common destiny will be a cynics derision. Come the new year.

Common, unchaste rage against common, unchaste intelligence; common, unchaste rage against common, unchaste rigorous thinking, intellectual abilities, worldly wisdom, practical smarts, the well deserved gifts to ourselves of pretensions to adulthood .... we all have to indulge our cravings for sweets and happiness at times and in seasons.
The joys and comforts of declining brain waves and proud guttural emotions of disdain and aggression are the wrappings upon the presents of glory and the icings upon the cakes of panacea.
That there is no avenues to responsible power, no paths to actual stakes in the process of governance leaves us our pittance of simple wants and pleasures, simple beliefs and affronts.
It is the investment in stupid that makes days bearable, that makes the beauty pageants of willful politicos palatable, that makes talk of the greatness of America and American ideals statements worth believing, that makes those statements practiced today self defined and self inclusive, exclusive set with boundaries cast in feeble terms with feeble thoughts and feeble effort.
Wisdom is a luxury for those who feel it it worth the trouble.
That is not us.

The ease of total immersion, total acquiescence to the ideals of God, the motherland, the fatherland, the ancesterland, the martyrland, the saviorland, the land of milk and honey, treacle and farce is the balm of the empty, the lacking, the weak, the limited, the small, the rage fueled, the noxious demons of being unable to deal with contrary thought.... pocked minds riddled with burrs of cactus and soothed with wines of slugs.
Spare us their holiness and passions, their false principles and middling claims to humanhood. Nothing in hell, heaven or earth take precedence over their rights to be master, arbitrator, judge, jury, executioner, zealot or thug. The refuge of the hater and the assassin. Those of real conscience earn their humanity.... are of an honorable nature free of hubris and dogma, tough, having gone through the work of trying to come to grips with the good workings of the human spirit.

Why is politics considered today the occupation and work of civilized people seeking civilized solutions to civilized problems in a civilized way....especially when seeking civilized solutions to civilized problems in a civilized way shows ignorance of the fact that civilized ways are only for the mealy mouths who have not the strength, courage, or internal rectitude to carry and use a big stick or a bazooka in all places, in all ways, for all ends
Why do staunch well meaning analysts, and rabid self serving haters try to say that what goes on in our political arena today is anything but the Huns at the gate and their massacres waiting to happen?
Lets have a nice little party and fix all of the evil doers and bring reason and justice, deliberation and substance to the process. Lets pick daisies and ring around the maypole.
Sharp elbows and mean people work best with thugs, gangsters, killers and thieves. Today politics is just plain thuggery and war. The true and noble good might just need to learn how to kick with steel toed boots and make all of the dirty heathens say uncle.
Think of the heroic football coach at a mean recess in with the wretched wretches in the mean corner of a tired and struggling middle school....here we have our dangerous ill tempered louts interested in holy crusade, opportunistic march to despotism, the chance to burn all who have ever glanced sideways at their fragile little selves. This the beat down of no intentions......Beat that down with good thoughts and being right.

What the hell do we need a middle class for? The middle class is the breeding ground for phony intellectuals with pretensions to knowledge, privilege, wealth and a say in their own affairs.
The middle class can have swollen numbers so much so that while it can deaden a culture intellectually it can also demand some homage from the grand lords of flip and splatter...the button pushers.
A middle class means people who can afford not to be cannon fodder; people who can afford to look for a job that pays subsistence wages; people who can afford to not get sold up and down the rivers of no chance by the purveyors of weak and diminished lingo.
The middle class thinks that it doesn't have to beg, that it doesn't have to jump through endless juvenile hoops just to satisfy the grand dragons of self importance who hold the cards, have the conch.
The middle class also would have much invested in the idea that there is real independence and sovereignty being practiced in this pristine world of ours and that the practitioners should take into account the idea of a country that believes in the viability of the slobs that support it....the dead middle.

True charity is for those only who recognize that they are certain losers. Otherwise why bother?
True knowledge is nothing more than a front to confuse and intimidate the unschooled, unhinged, unwilling. Once again our pristine form of democracy is as viable and valid and mailable and as sincere as it is because it fulfills the function of not maiming the most possible souls.
In our collective genius we manage the have the illusion of , at least, minimal comfort with the perceived powers that be held by at least a number somewhere in the mid range. The maximum number of dispossessed is seemingly limited by having guarantees serving to keep us clear of elitist rule by those of special privelege or special access to force.
That we have eternal dysfunction and mammoth lack of achievement in or with those who are our citizen leaders is still a grand thing in the long eternal histories of political struggles and the divine rights of kings, tyrants, lords, warlords, money men and rank killers.
We brave a system that affords us the absence of maximum pain to the most available citizens. We have achieved a stasis where we do the least amounts of available harm and create the the vast dumbing down of society so that the dictates of the fact and belief and story makers have some checks on their powers and wants and uses.
We crave our sainted protections from absolutists and string pullers, from those who operate above law and convention and from those who manipulate systems, power vacuums, the levers of commerce and force and power, the uses of fear, hate, intimidation, the applications of force of will.
The little power we have is worth holding. It protects us from the evils unseen and the forces unchallenged, unbroached. We crave our diffuse misty sharing of power and access and we are sure that we will protect the rights of the illusionary satisfied from the forces of laughter and cynicism who would choose to know better. We are strong, diverse, wise, and on guard.

So we have the fight for the soul of the American public. We have those lacking compassion. We have those awash with it. We have those understanding the trials and conflicts of production and those who appreciate not the efforts of innovation, management, survival. We have those who see the old evils of unbridled laissez - faire capitalism and those who do not. It is always the old conflicts. What does capitalism owe to labor....what does labor owe to capitalism? Is labor an endless pool to be eternally abused as an endless glut on the market? Is capital an endless evil trying to navigate the bitter fields of production, efficiency, competition, vulnerabilities in markets and systems?
The age old fight between the individual and the collective......the fodder of the collective versus the soul of the individual. Where today is the the acceptable line drawn? Do we not factor in the line at all? Stifle the human spirit and the society is dead. Stifle the living prospects of the general populace and the society is rancid. Capital creates capital....that is its purpose......all other grand benefits are off shoots not aims. Labor creates survival......too much a drag on production and nimbleness can kill the goose....Disrespect for either of the two, the fat cats, the greedy parasites and ugly is the world.
The many mealy mouthed babblers, cons, charlatans, fools and worthless scoundrels wrapping themselves in the flag that is the last refuge of scoundrels all claim to speak for the American public when the American public can't even speak for itself. We don't know what the hell we stand for......we're too damned put upon, intimidated used, abused, manipulated and sapped to care. A soul requires soul searching. Soul searching requires contemplation, thought, quiet. Quiet requires that the whole damned political world shut up.

It seems to me that in the grand scheme of things and the grand cultural marches through time, the great contributions to human growth and progress, self actualization, self awareness, intellectual pursuits and defense against small minded idiots, bigots, intellectual poseurs, slobs who can intimidate but not reason, kill but know no heart or wisdom, seek power and the use of and limitations of others ..... it seems to me the grand traditions of Renaissance, Enlightenment, development of critical thought, the standings for honest inquiry .... the meekly dawning weapons against ideology, orthodoxy, dictated ways of thought, book burning, haters....it seems to me that this has probably been a good thing.
This cherished prize ours is, of course, generally attacked, hated, pushed towards ruin, demonized, dirtied, wished to go away. This cherished prize ours, its grand proponents, are routinely wished ruin, disembowelment, the flames of hell, the wish to be the food of fish. This cherished prize ours is sagely identified as godless demonization, elitist relativism, soft, mooching, preying Shylocking and degraded muck from the pits of hell.
To cherish that which has made a culture great, that which has given lifeblood to praised and rejected cultural and political antecedents, to champion the cause for its greatness is to court demise. Simple thought, simple answers. Idiots delight and snakes' base orthodoxy. Churlish propagandists and rank little cynics who buy and sell, whip and muster, break and draw and quarter...they steal the future, ring dry freedom of movement, of thought, leave no place physical or mental worthy to go ....no avenues untouched by simplicity, orthodoxy, numbness, dictates of divine grand pooh bas and devils...no avenues independent or non treasonous.... the grand logical conclusion of intellectual progress is that the number of anti intellectual idiots will eventually overrun and save the day.
A tradition that make pride is a dangerous thing. Ugly is better.

Since all processes around all politics are fixed only when they are not then it is no great surprise that all of our paragons of virtue and sincerity, freedom lovers all, fight mightily for their very own little ends but fight mightily not for the preservation of a legitimate democratic republic.
Politics ain't bean bags and the stakes are always high, the pressures are always great, the threats to law and order always lurking, and the urge to maximize power a fact of human existence. That said one should just be happy with those who just don't espouse outright oligarchy or gangsterism...... which is a tough bargain when seeking the heart of hearts of our players and schemers.
There is no there there to incentify a politico to stand for a system that, built in, respects the ideas of rational political markets, free political markets, non fixed or slanted, faked, or baked political markets..... heavenly dear political markets.
Backing and passion for those who seek the role of holier than though, disciplinarian and self righteous buffoon, firm and fair reformer with a flair, sure to be naive practicing cynic is left to those with no vested interest in political outcomes and the competing interest making for dynamic policy. What possible push is a push too far? What possible war is a war to childish? What possible world view is an acceptable world view? The he's or she's who love to skin ripe enemies get our ultimate respect. Love the muggers.

Hate the damned hippies. Turn up your nose as the insipid tea baggers. The rot gut whiskey of allowable detesting is always alive and well and always fun and cathartic.
Hate the cloven heeled liberals. Detest the iron bottomed true believers and mellow ideologues. Harangue the walls with mellow tones of vitriol and hate.
The devils we love give us the sideshows we crave. What good is a rumble if it can't be seen in glorious color and mighty second rate narratives. What good is tomorrow if we can have at the seeds of the future today? What good is yesterday if it can't give us causes to moon over and despicable vile louts to blame for sin?
It feels damned good to ride out the crests of smart assed divinity. It feels damned good to be the killers of purpose and the receptacles for inanity. Call out all impenetrable fools who stand for the fiery ends of civilization as we love it. Cede power to the tame, lame and clueless. Messages are for messengers and messengers are rat's assed annoying.
Kill the tinkers and the thinkers, the fus
ers and the bated. The royal closets mind the rules for heavens and earth. The royal wings of vengeful royal scum wait patiently in the wings.
Beware of false springs, love of false springs, love of reactions to false springs, the cynical lot of soulless cookies being left the rage to play out the ends of discourse and rigorous thought, opinion.
Dead dirty easy thought playing to dead dirty easy minds always drives out the good, the honorable, the open. Easier to bake, easier to make, easier to package, easier to sell, easier to jam down someones throat.
