The conundrum of envy for the rights of a union wage without the choice understanding that such competition may in rational mode raise all boats of pay and prey and that diminishing same cuts some very effective tools for any competitive edge for workers to obtain..... silly lessons from the bloody dirty past.
Put upon unions like all good organizations, businesses, governments and loud mouths may also become power hungry, corrupt, ravenous and obnoxious .... but fundamental truth still remains .... they are the last best firewall against the serfdom so many seem to crave.
Capital needs its flexibility ... to own workers, their lives, their privacy, their habits, their futures. The trust in these benign forces who seek interests other than their own is the fantasy of those of certain persuasions ... the rising tide that raises all boats of capital does so only if all boats are not dammed off in rotten cesspools. Battles won by an awful lot of sainted forbearers in the America of poetry charmed by those who wish to have the poetry of happy paternalism and trust in their good offices are battles lost, diminished, negated, forgotten.
Since the wise trust none ..... the distrust of all is as sane as the distrust of the poor, poor, laborer who depends upon those who move our mountains...... none of which just know how to manipulate money and systems and things.
As in many things...there are always the pendulum shifts ...... gorging labor ain't no damn good..... killers of capital capital killing humbles us in our praise of the ruthless of old. Lets all stand with them.

It must be because evil communists and therefor like minded socialists were our latest and greatest eternal and existential foe or because the fascists and statists were just those funny little killers and murderers and fiends who were rancid monsters in the glory days of pre history but any and all upon the left side of the political spectrum can be demonized and censured and hated and scorned and be put on the righteous defensive by any and all allusions to the grand devils of Stalinland while the holy right side of the spectrum can never be linked to the extreme natures of their beings ... the eternal monstrous fascists impulses and states of grand self serving grace.
Allusions to the extremes work well for all base alluders and rank fear mongers but the allusions to any poor righteous bastards who are in over their heads and conscience are passed over as unworkable, untoward, and measly and mealy mouthed.
No primal latent streak of accommodating warmth for the efficiencies of the good dictator or efficient fascist state could ever prevents traction from being gotten by foolish comparison or observation. High umbrage, crying self righteousness and victimhood comes tearfully from those labeled so. ... they have the immunity of the strong while their opposites have the weaknesses of the weak.
Rank bastards are rank bastards no matter the stripe or color..... no matter the evil or the spewing exaggerations .... but there may be a secret tender heart lurking here for certain kinds of rank bastards .... toughness is good.

Might, right and left ...stupid and cynical ... flagellating and moaning... entertaining and pacifying .... exorcism and excommunication are the joys of the troupe .... purity is king .... static, seething joys of inverted sexual pleasure ... rapture comes from the cleansing of the unclean, from the nullifying and removing the unclean from the golden gates of eternal belief and the psychic sustenance absent critical thought, self examination, irony and humor.

Smart actors trust no one unless the tables of divinity say that that trust is a possible, probable thing. Smart actors know that in any relationship where power rests not with themselves trust is a thing that gets damaged easily and gets betrayed mightily at four o'clock in the morning. Smart actors know that kicking high and riding high for those with power is simply a way to hope that one might be covering the back sides of stupidity.
Smart and splendid seekers of power and pain and wisdom and truth know that faith, hope, and charity, ideology, religion and intimidation are things that co opt the lovelies, manufacture trust, give the unshepherded causes to pine for, badges to display.
Statism, cronyism, capitalism, state meddling and breaking, private power owning, demeaning, enslaving ... these are all things that the smart know that the dim cherish ...... they wish to be on the right side of the equation, they wish to be with the winners of fate's control.
The trust of the dim is always in a grand bit of inverse proportion to the distrust of the devil at hand.... whom or what you love saves you from being a nullified little piece of useless cypher.
Trust who or what? Trust the accumulation of the strangleholds of force out side of the chosen sides of hell. Competition for the ability to nullify, quantify, shake, bake, break and kill helps keep all of the empty from having it done to them too damned overtly.

Who holds the whip hand when the powers of those who can set up the box and the bow that puts you ever at the disposal of those who can take your job, your money, your freedom of movement? Who gives claws to those who wish to structure a system that makes life a constant struggle to survive?
Who counterbalances those forces who can ruin a fool by picking him out of a brown paper bag? Who sands up against the crushing weight of power exercised by those who feel no pain if they use that power that they have?
Who stands up against those who wash out the safety net that prevents having the imposition of societal conditions upon those who have nowhere else to go but into the cattle shoot of no expectations and general waste fodder and the self regulating eternal slime of the eternal swamp.... mix well and let permanent stasis and or atrophy begin...with structures in place to ensure the lack of access to law and decree by any who would not have the skin in the game of those who are born to shape the system for their own thrills? Who gets bought off and who gets played?
Who has the power to maim at will? Those who go after the use of will and force have the tools to keep the noses of necessary victims out of the way. They push always towards the inability of power to be understood and countered...... civil power...private power ...all bought by those who won't give it up now that they have taken it and or had it handed to them.

Who stands up against those who wash out the safety net that prevents having the imposition of societal conditions upon those who have nowhere else to go but into the cattle shoot of no expectations and general waste fodder and the self regulating eternal slime of the eternal swamp.... mix well and let permanent stasis and or atrophy begin...with structures in place to ensure the lack of access to law and decree by any who would not have the skin in the game of those who are born to shape the system for their own thrills? Who gets bought off and who gets played?
Who has the power to maim at will? Those who go after the use of will and force have the tools to keep the noses of necessary victims out of the way. They push always towards the inability of power to be understood and countered...... civil power...private power ...all bought by those who won't give it up now that they have taken it and or had it handed to them.
Politics is power ...who has it...who does not...... This is too tricky a question for the humble hearts of gut voters.

The poor and working classes are a motley group who know well how to deal with deprivation and know well how t get by without work, without housing, without responsibilities, without anything but the ability to fight, be drug addled, fill up the undervalued parts of town and country.
The poor and working classes can be counted upon to dislike and dismiss any and all who look down on them regularly and the can be propped up in this effort by those who just want to use them as canon fodder and mob.
There is no use for these people but to be harnessed and put out of causing harm's way... if they survive, maybe fine or well and good...but not in great numbers ...if not, fine or well and good...but not in great numbers.....little difference does it make to the models of the structures and the systems that benefit the winners in these United States.
Absent resource..... the old Malthusian vision of constant competition for inconstant resource succumbs to fate. Inconstant resource can be used as a fine tool to consolidate kills and power by those who have the ability to move and function. It can easily serve the purpose of those who wish a ruling class of them. .... to make whole the dim and destitute gains not those who can nullify them.
The show lingers and flows and goes and the issues are phony and worthless and there is no urgency anywhere or any recognition of crises real or imagined ... there is no constituency for such .... it gain none but those nullified and worthless. ... non people have have no sway. no moxie, no skin in the game.
